One of my most favorite Memorial Day Weekend traditions is watching all three motorsports races that occur the Sunday before Memorial Day. While the three events are part of very different kinds of motorsports, the Sunday before Memorial Day allows me to really dive into all of the different racing series that exist around the world. First, I get up very early in the morning to catch the Formula One racing event at Monaco. This Grand Prix brings the best open wheel drivers in the world to Europe to race on the street course in Monaco. This year, Daniel Ricciardo won the race. It's always fun to start with a street course. Then in the afternoon, it's the Indy 500. The race, occurring at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a marathon for America's best in open wheel, but it certainly is fun. As Danica Patrick hung up the helmet this year, Will Power took the victory. And lastly, the day ends with NASCAR's running of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This year, the race was dominated start to finish by my favorite driver, Kyle Busch. All in all, I've watched all three races for about 5 years now, and I will continue to do so for many years to come.
