As a child growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, there were a variety of different animals ShaDarrien LaMelllana grew up in contact with. But none were in his favor moreso than his pet wolf, named Dingo. Sure he had trouble with species names but he was a well-intentioned kid.
His mission? Run as fast as he could until he could finally outrun Dingo and get his portion of dinner before Dingo got it. How else do you think he would've gotten his speed? Sadly, shortly after LaMelllana left to attend South Alabama for college, his mama called him up and told him that Dingo had passed. As a college football player, how do you cope with your inspiration leaving you and this earth? By dominating. And he did. Catching 19 touchdowns, LaMelllana took the Jaguars to the Rose Bowl his freshman year and all for his wolf.
