Just pulled the numbers for individual games (combining the two quarterbacks' stats) after noticing how bad the S8 ASFC Championship Game was. Here are the best combined performances:
1. S7 ASFC Championship - 9.102 ANY/A
49/82 for 716 yards, 6 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and 6 sacks for 35 yards
2. S5 NSFC Championship - 8.029 ANY/A
57/99 for 849 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 6 sacks for 41 yards
3. S9 ASFC Championship - 7.242 ANY/A
43/87 for 622 yards, 6 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and 8 sacks for 54 yards
So basically the 3 best games were the games with the 3 best individual performances. Great. Real enlightening.
4. S8 NSFC Championship - 7.011 ANY/A
46/87 for 692 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 8 sacks for 41 yards
5. S4 NSFC Championship - 6.662 ANY/A
43/67 for 549 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 10 sacks for 71 yards
Actually doing this does punctuate my point about older quarterbacks being hurt by their environment. From Season 5 to present the worst combined game was the S5 Ultimus with a 4.070 ANY/A. From Season 1 to 4 (with 2 fewer games) there are 3 games with a lower ANY/A:
S1 ASFC - 1.952
S2 Ultimus - 1.697
S3 Ultimus - 1.913
The best combined game in those first four seasons was the S4 NSFC Championship with a 6.662 and in the first three seasons was the S3 NSFC Championship with a 5.833.
That 5.833 would rank 8th of 14 from Season 5 to present.
And here's the sack data:
S1-3: 103 sacks for 714 yards
S4-6: 100 sacks for 670 yards
S7-9 (1 fewer game): 58 sacks for 363 yards
S1-4: 141 sacks for 976 yards
S5-8: 105 sacks for 671 yards
The season 8 playoffs saw a total of 24 sacks over 3 games while the season 3 Ultimus saw 18 in just that one game (I believe that was the game that caused the OL changes, in fact).
Same splits for passing yardage:
S1-3: 678 attempts for 4,155 yards
S4-6: 805 attempts for 5,859 yards
S7-9 (1 fewer game): 689 attempts for 4,984 yards
S1-4: 941 attempts for 6,008 yards
S5-8: 1,065 attempts for 7,883 yards
