John Canton is proving to be quite the shutdown corner, and takes his job very seriously. But in a recent interview, he showed us a more playful side when talking about how he gets along with his new team outside of game day.
"I'm not sure what you've heard, but I have a prank I like to pull on the receivers that we used to do all the time back in college. It's kinda like a welcome to the no fly zone initiation, but it gives us some good laughs. You see, what you do is, you take just a little bit of clear tape. Like the kind you use to wrap a present, cuz packing tape won't work. So you take the tape and you cut it into real small pieces, just big enough to stick on the fingertips of your receivers gloves. Small enough that they don't see or notice them, but we know they there. Then you play em hard out on the field, force them to the outside, and they try to make these fingertip grabs, and the ball just goes shooting out. It's not much, but receivers got big egos, so they start to get all mad. So you gotta remind em it's just a prank. Brah."
Canton then pointed to Weston and gave a nod, then chuckled to himself as he jagged back to the field.
