Not all pranks are good natured. This is the harsh reality facing Orange County Back Up QB Mike Boss, as he was recently the victim of a prank played on him by the organization's front office.
"They told me that I was their guy. They said they were going to ride me and give me a shot to prove myself out there. I was so happy after we were able to grind out a win, I felt like the team made a lot of progress. It's easy to follow up a 6 INT game with something better, but I knew throwing 3 more was still a sign I had a lot to work on. Lost in my jubilation from helping lead the team to our first ever win, I was asked to come into Coach Goofball's office. He told me that I would be sitting on the bench, that I wasn’t going to be the starting QB anymore; despite leading the team to a victory. So yeah, the biggest prank the Orange County Otters played was telling me I was their starter."
While there was surely a QB controversy, it's unprecedented in professional sports to give up on a starting QB after only two games. Now that the front office has effectively destroyed the morale of their best QB, how will they recover?
