**Weird that they are both 52, especially considering one is a WR**
Great offensive and defensive performance propelled the Orange County Otters (1-1) over their conference rival the San Jose SaberCats (1-1). On the offensive side of the ball, wideout Robert Phelps led the way for the Otters. Phelps had five grabs for 113 yards. He also caught a 20 yard touchdown pass that gave the Otters their 17-0 1st quarter lead. As the game wore on, linebacker Ian Bavitz kept the SaberCats in check. Bavitz recorded eight tackles, including two sacks. On the first drive of the game, Bavitz stripped SaberCats TE Blake Bottles and recovered the fumble. This turnover set the Otters up for the first score of the game. Bavitz would also intercept a Jameis Christ pass late in the first half while the SaberCats were driving in Otters’ territory. This change of possession sucked any remaining momentum out of the SaberCats’s sail as the Otters went on to win 23 - 10.

In a rematch of their Week 3 game, the Otters once again took on the SaberCats. This game was a lower scoring affair, but was highlighted by huge plays by Otters running back Omar Wright. The running back opened the game with a big 63 yard kick return. Despite the great starting field position, the drive ended with Otters quarterback Josh Bercovici throwing an interception. In the second quarter, Wright also had the biggest play of the season so far, on an 80 yard rush. Wright was tackled at the 5, and again despite getting the ball almost to paydirt, the Otters offense stalled and they settled for a field goal. The field goal ended up being not needed anyways as the Otters defense held the SaberCats offense to 6 points as the Otters won easily 17 - 6.

Yellowknife Wraiths linebacker Lindarius Shelton put up a good performance in a losing effort by the Wraiths. Shelton recorded 13 tackles and forced a third quarter fumble for the Wraiths. While the Wraiths recovered the fumble, they were unable to convert the turnover into points. The game was close up until the very end. With the Outlaws down 13 to 7 late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Vincent Draxel and the Outlaws offense orchestrated a game winning drive. The drive ended with a 3 yard touchdown pass to Outlaws WR, Lincoln Jefferson. With a minute and 46 seconds left on the clock, the Wraiths would get the ball back. However, their two minute drill fell short once again. With 27 seconds left in the game, on a 4th and 8 play, the Wraiths coach called a running play that almost caught the Outlaws off guard enough to succeed. Unfortunately for the Wraiths, running back Jack Stats was only able to pick-up 7 yards on the play, falling a yard short. Yet another questionable coaching decision to end a game for the Wraiths.
