In England the newspaper by the same name is basically known as being scum especially surrounding the Hillsborough disaster in which 96 football fans were killed. Liverpool fans won't even acknowledge it as a news source and most people in football are starting to avoid it. For example it's just been banned from r/soccer.

shame they don't ban r/soccer entirely, I could do without some lad from BANGLADESH commenting "GGMU <3 LIKE IF U THINK OLE WILL WIN THE WORLD CUP!!!" every few threads or Americans using .GAA or save percentages to gauge goalkeeper quality in a game of non consistent variables
