A little known fact about Vander Jones is that his first love was not football, in fact, it was the America's Past time otherwise known as baseball. Jones has always loved baseball as a kid and got heavy into the baseball cards and memorabilia scene since he was a pre-teen. He learned to love cards and memorabilia from his father who would frequently take him to the local card shop to look at and buy cards. Over the years Jones has gone through heavy spurts of adding items to his collection and also gone months without touching a single card or memorabilia. Now that he got paid a big contract from the Philadelphia Liberty he plans to build out his baseball memorabilia collection to something far greater than he thought ever possible. The first items on the docket for Jones will be signed baseballs from some of baseball's true legends such as Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, and Roberto Clemente. These four baseballs alone will likely run a tab up to or even exceeding $40,000 dollars which is not something Jones can afford to do. Sure, he could buy a fancy new car or house, but these pieces of history are worth as much as a lot of cars and would surely be a nice down payment on a home for any run of the mill collector. This is not only about achieving greatness in a lifelong collection pursuit but this also instantly becomes sort of a retirement fund should Jones ever fall on hard times when his playing days come to an end.
