When the Wraiths team got to the facility and realized that the GMs were nowhere to be found, they immediately selected Nero Alexander as their new leader. Although he is a rookie in the league and has absolutely no experience running a professional football team, he won his new subordinates over with his experience volunteering at youth football camps. No, he didn't technically run those either, but he was real good at making sure those 4th graders kept their feet inside the ladder.
The first course of action, naturally, was to demote Cooter Bigsby back to the San Antonio Marshals. At the beginning of the season, Cooter's experience would have been a welcome addition to the Marshals; however, with the emergence of Peter Larson, there wasn't room for Cooter to play meaningful snaps under center. Thus, he was moved to third-string long snapper, where the team can be sure he'll never throw away a game at a crucial moment on the goal line ever again.
Once Cooter was out of the picture, the Wraiths needed a new quarterback. The only quarterbacks with a worse rating than Cooter are Micycle "Infinite Pick-Sixes" McCormick, Gus Terrible Thrower Showbiz, and Borkus "Completionus Minimus" Maximus, so basically anyone else in the league would be an upgrade. To Nero, the obvious solution was to call up his old pal Ryan Leaf Jr. from Norwich. Since his transition from QB to defensive tackle, Leaf has been chugging his "secret stuff" and preparing himself to shut down opposing quarterbacks, but upon his promotion to Yellowknife he was asked once again to lead the offense. However, since position changing wasn't feasible, Leaf had to settle back into the quarterback role with his current 6'1", 310 lb, 70 speed, 5 arm, 1 accuracy self. Well, at least his "more speed" handedness will make him an improvement over Cooter, who has never even rushed for an 87 yard touchdown. The Wraiths will now run a quadruple option offense, as shown in the diagram below.

By the time Nero had the quarterback situation settled, Daybe and BigRed had reemerged from wherever they were hiding/vacationing/recovering from illness/being held hostage. Nero was disappointed that he didn't get a chance to overhaul the defense and shift all of Cooter's guaranteed salary into his own bank account before giving up his GM powers, but he could nonetheless sleep well knowing that he left the team better off than he found it.
