Taking over for the Pythons would be a tough job. As the reigning Ultimini champions, the team has some big shoes to fill and early in the season, it is very clear that it is no easy task. As interim GM, it is fair to say that the defense only needs to continue doing what it has been doing. As the number 1 defense in the DSFL by most metrics, the defense is clearly firing on all cylinders and delivering when it really matters. However, some major changes need to be incorporated to really get the offense rolling. While I would be restricted to only one day in charge, I would try some more exotic offensive schemes to see if Armstrong and the offensive squad could make it work. Even if they don't perfectly memorize or execute the unconventional gameplans, if we can see a flash of something, we could use it moving forward to keep to offense fresh and hard to stop. With such a strong backfield and a struggling receiving corps, integration of more play-action plays and maybe even a few wildcat plays could really spark something on the offense. My day as GM would spent trying my hardest to find what really could work on the offensive side of the ball. Ultimately, if by the end of the day nothing seems to have clicked on offense, I would even consider proposing a trade with one of the other DSFL teams to try to snag a promising receiver. If necessary, I might be willing to offer one of the pieces of the outstanding defense, as the team seems to be a little unbalanced at the moment.
