This draft class was arguably one of the, if not, the largest draft class in league history. As the season is almost over, let us take a look back at how this fine group of rookies did during their first year in the big time.
Round 1
Brock Landers- WR- Norfolk
This guy is definitely the new WR1 in Arizona, averaging 13.7 Yards per catch, and racking up 933 yards, and 7 touchdowns. His future looks truly promising in the desert.
Quenton Bode- LB- San Antonio
The first member of the hit young boy band, The Fab V, is taken here. He's the first linebacker off the board, and was a good choice for New Orleans. He had 108 tackles, 3 were for a loss of yardage, and, a force fumble, and, a pick, and on tap of that, 2 pass deflections. New Orleans defense has a good future ahead, despite being in a sort of noncompetitive division.
Johnny Slothface- LB- Tijuana
Interesting move by NOLA, taking yet another linebacker, to build up that defense like milk to your bones. Slothface was the first of many "Send Downs" (another DSFL season), but he produced very well for the Luchadores with 142 tackles, 10 of which were for a loss of yardage, 3 passes deflected, and yes, 13 sacks. New Orleans truly has a bright defense getting built, I feel they could get an ultimus in the next few seasons.
Nero Alexander- DE- San Antonio
FabV's back Alright! The second FabV member is taken, this time, Alexander gets picked. Having a rather quiet start in the big time, with 43 tackles, and 6 of which were for a loss of yardage, and on top of that, sacking a quarterback 3 times. Although this was a rocky start for him, he'll come back harder and stronger on Yellowknife's defensive line, and on a very good ultimus-contending team.
Copperheads Chase Jensen- TE- Palm Beach
The first player taken by an expansion team, so that automatically makes these players, send-downs. Jensen produced very well for the Solar Bears, who have a good chance of winning the ultimini. Jensen averaged 11.8 yards per catch, and 946 yards on the season, and on top of that, 7 touchdowns. He'll be a good add on to the Copperheads roster, and a fuel for optimism for the lone star state's lone professional sim team.
Butchers Lightsout Lewis- LB- Kansas City
Good pickup here, Lewis is a young stud in training, with the future looking so bright for him, that he surprisingly does not require shades. Lewis racked up the stat board to impress the scouts in Chicago, with 165 tackles, and surprisingly only 2 were for a loss of yardage, but he makes this up with 4 forced fumbles, and a recovery for himself, and 2 passes that got deflected off his mighty hands. Take notes scouts, the sim gods should look at this man and create him into a stronger player, I hope he has a hall of fame worthy career.
Ricardo Morris- DT- Norfolk
Another member of the fleet, this time, the U.S.S Morris, lands in the desert, of Arizona, to the place where the Outlaws rule the land. Morris produced very well in the desert, with 42 tackles, and a lone tackle pushed someone back a few yards this season. But he also forced and recovered a fumble, that would be returned for a touchdown (I wish I could do this, but next season i hopefully will). Welcome to the big time Morris, your time awaits at the outlaw saloon down in Phoenix.
AJ Lattimer- DT- Portland
A lot of people did not like this selection by the otters, but I feel that Orange County will benefit from this selection. Coming off an Ultimini win with Portland, Lattimer was expected to do very well in the big time, in which he did. He had 24 tackles during the regular season, and 5 of which forced the offensive attack to fall back a few times, and a lone sack on an unlucky quarterback. The bright lights welcome Lattimer as a new shinning star in Hollywood.
Richard D'Attoria- S- Portland
The liberty bell rings in as D'Attoria joins the liberty defending the city of brotherly love, this team has a bright future, but what about D'Attoria? He had 3 sacks on very unlucky quarterbacks, and, picking off quarterbacks 4 times, and denying 13 passes that could be dangerous. D'Attoria truly looks like a young stud here in downtown philly, He'll breakout next year at this pace.
Ahri Espeeyeeseetee- WR- Norfolk
Another member of the fleet sails off, this time to the bay area, to the city of San Jose, where the defending champs live. He was a Send-down this season and thrived on a weakened Norfolk team, where, most of the team went their own separate ways, but Espee shined. Averaging 16 yards per catch, and gaining 978 yards this regular season, and finding the end zone 8 times. I wonder how this upcoming surgery transforms Espee, will it be beneficiary? Find out on the next Sim Ball Z.
This group and others, are truly the new generation that will define the big time as older studs come and go throughout the years, but one question remains? Was this the greatest draft ever done?
