They probably didn't want to pay up what the market value of an active, talented QB costs as the league has suddenly found the position in short supply. Shaka doesn't let a guy like Bercovici go for nothing. Not when he's aware that Berc could be the guy shredding the otters in a championship in just a few short weeks if he does.

well, you see, they'd first have to actually ask what his asking price is on Berc- and from my understanding, no one even asked. And it's not like Shaka has a lot of leverage, I'll be a FA in the off season, so imagine his price wouldn't too steep. :shrug:
