*Grading Each Team's Draft

Concerning the Arizona trade, we basically gave up what would have been a dead pick for us at #15 pick in order to move up in the 2nd round next season. There was originally discussion about a "better of the two picks" clause, but both teams believed that the COL pick would clearly be the better pick between the two and handling it this way gave COL the freedom to shop around the ARI 2nd in future trade talks with other teams; the phrase "worse of pick x and y" just doesn't tend to excite potential trade partners. Of course, there is a slight chance that something could go wrong, but whether this trade moves Arizone up 5 spots or 1 spot, we gave up a low-value pick to move up and COL ended up getting a good player at the #10 spot (since they could now draft Wolfie in the 2nd), so I think it was a clear win for both sides.

Fair enough. I'm not super savvy about any of this anyway. I'm just a casual football fan who is writing some simple articles for some money. That's just the way I saw the trade when it first happened. I even debated removing the grading and overall analysis from the article because who needs to listen to my opinion. But I just thought I would have some fun pretending to be a football analyst. I appreciate the reply.
