Quote:Realistically how high do you think you can make it in this draft? Where do you think you deserve to be?
I believe I am firmly in the top 10-15 range of the incoming prospects, so depending on how things shake out with the amount of other players added to the draft pool, anywhere in rounds 5-7. I think I deserve to be at the very top, but I am hoping to be drafted into a good situation with active members. I have had talks with a few franchises so far and honestly, I can imagine playing for all of them and loving it.
Quote:This is a pretty loaded draft class at almost every position. What makes you stand out?
What makes me stand out is what I can become in the league and my attitude. As a shifty route runner, I can develop into being one of the fastest players in the league and with the hands and agility to match. I'm always going to be a team-first player, which I've noticed some players are not, which is fine. I just value championships over statistics!
Quote:Squirrels or opossums?
Living on the Midwest my whole life, I have grown to hate squirrels. They are nasty little shits that go out of their way to screw you over. I don't know anything about opossums other than this one time where one came on my porch and starting stealing cat food, but it was so darn cute. Opossums for sure, since I haven't seen their nasty side yet.
Quote:What do you think of your fellow prospects? Anybody you'd like to play with? Anybody you'd fear playing against?
I'm having a blast with everyone that is on the Cobras! I would not mind sticking with Jay Cue as my quarter back through my career. Buck Buckington has caught my eye as a beast in the trenches, and Matt Ammons is an absolute monster, too. Not to mention guys like Zach Bailey, Net Gaines, Mike Franchet, and Jesse Jackson. I'd love to play with any of those guys after the draft. For someone not on my team, it would be an honor to be on a team with Lucky Dickerson. I haven't talked to him but I see his posts a lot and I like his name. For a player I'd be scared to play against, it has to be Bjorn or Bubba Thumper. Since those guys play in the front seven, I wouldn't want to go over the middle and I'd be scared for my quarter back as well. Please don't hurt him! I'd welcome the challenge to go against an elite defensive back and really prove myself to everyone who doesn't know my name yet.
Quote:Where would you most like to play in the DSFL?
Any team that wants me and values me. I want to be part of an active locker room and be able to maintain friendships with the guys I play with. Three teams have contacted me so far and all of them seem like great destinations for me. I am hoping the other teams will touch base with me too!
Quote:How would you rank the following in terms of catchability: a football, a baseball, a razor scooter, an infant, Saba Donut, Bjørn Ironside, the concept of time, bees?
Love this question. Oh boy, where to start? The easiest would absolutely be the football and baseball, since they are actually meant to be caught. I'm pretty quick, so I think bees would be next. It would not be too hard to get my hands on some of those suckers. Next, the long handle on the razor scooter would be very easy to get my hands on. I do not think it would challenging at all. Out of the concept of time and the humans, I think the easiest would end up being Saba. Even though he has become somewhat of a mentor for me, I would not be too scared of dropping him, as he probably would not care too much and he would easily survive. The next, definitely the infant. Especially if it is not one of my hypothetical ones. I would be nervous about dropping it, but I obviously have never dropped a football-sized load in my life so it would go well. I'd have to go with Bjorn being second to last. He is the type of guy to retaliate if I do drop him, and at the mammoth size he is at, I can't see myself succeeding. Finally, we come to the concept of time. I put this one last simply because up until a few days ago, I thought I was living in 2019, not 2031. I guess time flies while you're doing point tasks.
Quote:Speed seems to kill in this league, how fast do you think you are, and how do you want to improve?
I am definitely not the fastest guy out there right now, but by the time the draft comes around, I know that I will be at a respectably quick. I'm a naturally fast and shifty guy so it will not take a lot of work to get back into game shape and earn my speed back. I am definitely wanting to get faster and faster during my career and will focus primarily on that. I also want to increase my stamina in games so I can go fast for longer, and finally I need to work on my hands and finishing my catches. It is the worst feeling in the world to drop a perfect pass from my quarterback and I know that feeling too well right now. I will definitely work to improve my game in that area.
Quote:Hands and route running are important for any WR, do you focus on primarily hands or better route running to get open?
Not all of us wide receiver a we're blessed with the hands and catch radius of a Calvin Johnson or Deandre Hopkins. I primarily focus on using my technique and route running to get separation for myself so that I can concentrate a little better on reeling in the football.
Quote:Say a guy jams you on the line, do you improvise or do you still try to run the route and why?
Before games, I love getting together with my quarter back and going over plans based on how the defense plays me. Certain guys are good at jamming receivers, so there needs to be a backup plan. If I am the primary receiver on a play, I know that I have a little bit of freedom with which route I can run against a press coverage and I talk with my quarter back with this often. I would say my craftiness in running routes and my smarts of when to switch it up is one of my best attributes. If my route is not as important and I know there are many other reads on the play, I can keep trying to run the original route in order to free up space for my teammates to run their own routes. Sometimes a guy is jamming me up so well that I have to find a way to get in his inside so I can block him after a teammates gets a catch and runs towards me. It is never fun to stop your route but sometimes that is what is best for my teammates.
