Hi. So this cap infraction is entirely my fault, and to be absolutely clear, I take the blame for it. However, I maintain this is not an issue of intentional wrongdoing but rather of negligence and unforeseen issues with the budget sheet.
I won't make this long, but the crux of the issue is that when I added an extra 2 rows above Mark Grau's row on June 7th at 10:06 PM (those with edit permissions on the Budget Sheet can check this over) in order to make a space for the new GM pick Wolfie McDummy, it changed the SUM formula for the total cell. Rather than counting the entire column (e.g. I2:I91), the formula changed to I4:I91. Could this have been avoided by giving GMs edit access to the total column, or by using a more foolproof formula like I:I91? Maybe, but that's not the point. What resulted was us overlooking Wolfie's 1M contract in Row 2, and as a result we were 1M over the cap in S16.
Again, I take full responsibility for this as I should have noticed the 1M discrepancy earlier. When I noticed, I immediately self-reported to HO, expecting a punishment to be handed down, as the rules are fairly cut and dry on this issue.
I apologize to the entire Colorado Yeti organization for this mistake, and I hope that the ramifications of it do not affect us too harshly this season.
