Ragnar @Kronen is one tough son of a gun. Fast and durable, he seems ready to shine right off the bat. In the opening prospect game, he had 5 tackles and 2 interceptions, one of which was a pick 6, earning defensive player of the game. When Paul DiMirio wakes up in a cold sweat at night, all he can remember is the burning eyes of Ragnar Kronen as he reaches in to grab the ball away at the last moment.
The one challenge Kronen does face is depth – currently all teams have starting safeties and don’t seem to be interested in spending cap space for a guy who’d be riding the bench. I could see the Otters picking him up though, if they have the cap space – they only have a couple JAGS at strong safety and Kronen could fit in nicely, a definite potential contributor in the playoffs. Once the expansion teams arrive, he’ll be selected for sure in season 2 as a starting safety; no way he rides the pine. In the meantime, Ragnar will continue to keep some of the other season 2 prospects honest in the rookie games – I’m certainly glad he’s on my team.
