Dermot Lavelle has been a model of consistency for the Wraiths, since joining very shortly after the Season 1 Draft. Without a full Training Camp under his belt Lavelle ranks 3rd among Corners in tackles, 6 behind Baltimore's Antoine Delacour and 2 behind San Jose's Timote Shoate, 5th in Interceptions (1 behind 4 players), and 2nd in pass deflections, trailing only Colorado's Alex Hayden by 3. He has been a significant part of a Yellowknife team that finds itself atop the official NSFL power rankings, and will be a strong part of the Wraiths' postseason hopes.

While Lavelle is unlikely to top the draft board - cornerback just isn't a position that is percieved to have enough value to warrant a #1 pick, and expansion teams will likely be better served looking at the Wraiths' Defensive Tackles, assuming that the to-be-announced rules do not allow Yellowknife to protect all of their players along the Defensive Line, a canny manager would be looking to exploit how much the Wraiths are likely going to be willing to part with in order to 'retain' a player who has been such a large and vocal presence in the locker room, as well as a standout on the field.
