Written Option: Once the season starts, sky-high optimism very usually comes back to reality. Write about a disappointment from the first week of games. It can be a play, a loss, or your a poor statistical performance.
Even though the New Orleans Second Line knew we were in for a tough test on the road in Orange County in week one, we all seemed to feel pretty optimistic about the game. It is a new year after all and we were ready to write a new script. We were actually tied with the Otters going into the game's final quarter, but unfortunately the Otters would put up 10 unanswered points, leaving New Orleans with a 0-1 record to start their season.
Overall, the loss was disappointing, especially with it being close going into the final frame. Personally, I was very disappointed in myself when the Otters scored their first touchdown of the fourth quarter, essentially putting the game away. I felt like I could have done more for the team to stop them from scoring, but I didn't. Overall I had a decent game: 11 tackles, 1 sack, 2 PD. But this drive definitely overshadows all of that for me. Then the two interceptions in the fourth quarter by our offense were just back breaking. The defense should have held but I really was hoping that the offense was going to pick us up. This will not define our season though, we have already experienced some big wins and devastating losses in the next weeks, but I am hopeful that New Orleans will rally and we can make some noise in the playoffs.
