Well, Blackstone has yet to play a game for one of the newest teams in the league: the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. The Buccaneers recently claimed him off of waivers not long after he announced his intention to enter the DSFL. Because of this, Blackstone hasn't been able to experience the atmosphere of a professional football game as a player. So, instead he caught up with his older cousin, Verso L'Alto.
L'Alto, just this week, announced that he will be retired at the end of this season. This was a much anticipated decision which many people thought would have come a season or two before as L'Alto started to slow down and lose some of his starting reps to the next generation of Tight Ends in the NSFL. Nevertheless, L'Alto decided to stick it out saying that he wanted to play as long as he was able. Unfortunately, he announced to fans that he had hit his limit. Because of this, in the Baltimore Hawks' most recent home game, when L'Alto's name was announced as he first took the field, L'Alto was just about brought to tears as he saw the entire stadium rise to its feet. As the Aviary saluted him with the double-winged salute, he truly recognized how blessed he was to lead such a gratifying career.
