We have some wild pre-game traditions in Philly. Most are based around Philly cheese steak sandwiches. Before every game a truck backs up to the parking lot and dumps an entire truck of cheese steaks onto a tarp, which then becomes a free for all for all tailgaters. It's quite the spectacle, but it's a huge hit with the crowd of course.
Next is the ringing of a giant replica of the Liberty Bell for each touchdown. In the past this was after every first down, but the league cracked down on it due to the damage being caused in people's ear drums. The league officials feel that the current rate feels more manageable.
Another tradition is the Liberty, Liberty, Liberty jingle from the Liberty Mutual commercials blasted over the loudspeakers. This is done after every first down. They have managed to escape the ire of HO with this tradition, probably in large part due the team sending 10% of the ad revenue back to the league.
All in all, the team has some great traditions, which really mesh with the great history of Philadelphia. Some argue they are a little tacky, and visitors seem to hate them, but the home crowds are a huge fan, and I think we'll see these traditions continue for many years to come.
