5) Offseason Needs
The biggest need for the Chicago Butchers is a locker room presence. I think that the team’s been sitting around waiting for something to happen. Nothing really has. The only channels that are consistently active are the weeb channel and the music channel and you can probably guess why. When it comes to the needs on the field, we could honestly do with anything. The Butchers are essentially a blank slate with a QB who has elite potential, but no ability to show it. You’d need to bring in options for the offense and a defense that can support it.
But none of that matters if no one wants to be there. It’s gonna take a while for this team to rebuild, but one of the best ways to prepare it for that sort of thing is to bring in users who are going to talk in the locker room and encourage new players to stick around. I’ve always tried to convince myself that I could be the kind of user who can keep others around, but my multiple attempts at being a good and useful GM have proven otherwise. I’m a good supplement, someone who can enhance an already good LR. But I’m nothing without a user who has the gravity to pull in actives and can convince others to speak up and keep the LR open.


9) Brotherly Love
This answer totally has nothing to do with the last task. Definitely not.
I’ve been around this league for a while and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want to deal with anyone I don’t want to deal with. I’ve made too many enemies probably. But there’s still good people here, that’s why I’ve stuck around this long. There’s some people who have become friends, there are even a few people I call my children. But I only have one big sister (okay, that’s a lie. IRL, I have like, 4).
I don’t think anyone in this league has anything bad to say about @bex. Since joining the league, she’s done her best to make sure that people remain civil and happy. When I walked into the rookie discord for the first time as a GM, she was the one who apologized for everyone. Since then, she’s helped me with my writing and from what I’ve heard she’s been helping a lot more people than just me as well.
Bex is probably the kindest person in this league and if she is actually going to be the next Commissioner, then this league should have no worries about its future. It’s always a good thing when good people find their way to the top.


10) Commissioner
So first off, I would not want to be the one running this league. There’s honestly not much wrong with the league in terms of the rules in place. All problems arise when someone does some stupid shit and then you’ve gotta dig around to gather all the evidence and then decide a punishment which will always be rdiculed by the rest of the league as either too strict or too lenient, sometimes both. There’s no good way to do it and there’s a reason why the last two Commissioners have essentially gone insane. We obviously can’t just be an autonomous collective and holding regular elections would be torturous, so now someone is just appointed and we all hope for the best.
What I’d change is something that I’ve talked about for a long time: HR Department. IRL, an HR department is meant to protect the company and not the employees, but I just can’t think of a better name to describe this area of the HO. Basically, it’s a position that tries to help maintain civility in the league. I’ve always very much disliked the ThunderDome because it turns people with genuine issues into entertainment for the masses. People who need conflict resolution or who have real concerns about other people. HR would be able to handle that themselves without bringing the full HO in. HO has a couple of blunt tools they can use to fix these issues, but HR should be able to get in between the two users and come up with a solution.
