1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews:
Our first playoff game this season was against Colorado. My predictions for NSFC standings were correct so I was expecting to play the Yeti in the wildcard game from the get go. Both our games against the Yeti during the regular season were pretty easy wins so my expectations were nothing less than that. Everyone on the offense showed up for this game. We dominated the run game as well as the pass game. Ahri had 100+ yards without a touchdown and Bigby had 100+ yards with a touchdown. But the most impressive thing about the game was the 98 yards kickoff return by Walt Green which resulted in a touchdown. This game was an eazy win for us. Up next we played Yellowknife Wraiths once again for the NSFC title. We lost both of our games to them during the regular season but they were both very close games(1 score games). So I had no idea what would happen going into the game but was hoping for another close game. However we got crushed. They scored 7 touchdowns and 2 field goals resulting in a 55-14 game. I think this game was all about the defenses. Our defense was not able to generate any kind of turnovers or sacks while Yellowknife defense thrived against any kind of offense we had.
3) Revenge
This was our second straight loss in the NSFC championship game against the Yellowknife Wraiths. Last year wasn't such a harsh loss but this season we got blown out. That's why I feel like we really need to get revenge next year! Yellowknife have been a very good team since they signed a bunch of high quality free agents a few seasons ago. We on the other hand have been struggling with signing free agents during the offseason. We are also known for our draft pick trading during the season to get titles, however that hasn't been working so well for us lately. The good thing is this offseason and draft is definetly going better for us. We were able to sign two defensive free agents which will fill very important positions on our starting roster. Raymond Vans will be joining Marquees Acho to bolster our linebackers, while Logan Uchiha will be helping us out in the backfield. Yellowknife has been very dominant against us for the past couple of seasons, both during the regular season and the playoffs. I think we had a few games where we had kind of a revenge but I feel like it won't be actual revenge until we beat them on NSFC title game and go get ourselves an Ultimus.
4) Resim!
Our loss against the Yellowknife Wraiths in the playoffs definetily hurt me. It was a blowout and I would love to see that game getting resimed. However our first loss of the season hurt me way more. That was our week three game agains the Wraiths. It was a very close game which ended with a touchdown by Wraiths to win the game, at the very last play! The clock litteraly hit 00:00 as they score that touchdown! As a safety I feel great responsibility for that loss. It was my job to stop that play and get us a win but I failed. I guess my fellow defensive man failed a bit as well. I think we played an amazing game and definetily deserved the win. That is why I want that game resimmed. No one should witness a game where they lose at the very last second. I am ok with losing in the resim as long as we don't lose it at the last play of the game. It is very disheartening and soul breaking to witness such a thing. Granted, we should have been way better defensively and shouldn't have let such a game happen but if I have a resim pass I would 100% use it on this game.
8) Scouting Report
We have been looking at running back talent for the past couple of drafts. Ever since Dorfus Jimbo decided to play safety, we needed a new running back. We first signed Ludicolo Bigby to cover that need but we all know that running back by committee is how you get your running game going. This years draft class did not have a ton of running backs however we had our eyes on Darrel Williams from the get go. He is an MVP caliber player who will probably win a bunch of awards this year! He had 1713 rushing yards for 11 touchdowns. He had 325 carries, averaging 5.3 yards! I know these are DSFL numbers and his stats won't carry over to the NSFL immediately. That being said I am so excited about him as a prospect! We had a lot of success with our running game this year. Corey Trevor was our secondary running back who is kind of a mediocre player. This year we will be replacing him with Darrel Williams and I am pumped about it! This is our first first round pick since S14 and I am pretty sure he will be providing us with very valuable rushing yards for seasons to come.
