1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews:
The game that I have decided to review is the NFC championship game in the DSFL. This game came down to the last few seconds with a game winning field goal by the Minnesota Grey Ducks. It was a surprisingly high scoring game for both teams. The offensive contributions came differently for each sides. Unsurprisingly Jay Cue had a good passing game, going 17/24 for 157 yards and a touchdown. He finished the game with a 102.3 rating. Jay also lead his team in rushing because of a large 29 run. But unlike Cue, Vega had a terrible game. Vega finished with a 42.7 rating, threw one interception and only passed for 75 yards on 20 attempts. Luckily for him the Grey ducks had a stellar running game. In total the 3 Grey Duck rb’s ran for 272 yards with a majority of it coming from Darrel Williams who had 160 yards and 2 touchdowns. The game also had a bit of miscellaneous scoring. In addition to his awful passing game, Vega also took a safety. Juan Marston also had a huge 86 yard punt return for a touchdown. This was just a game where Jay Cue couldn’t do enough even though he tried his hardest.
3) Revenge
The team I want to get revenge on is the Yellowknife Wraiths. The Wraiths blew out the Baltimore Hawks in the NSFC championship game. The final score of the game was 55-14 in favor of the Wraiths and the Hawks failed to score after halftime. I guess that's what happens though when you only have the ball for 19 minutes and can only convert 2 of 9 third downs. It was by far the largest point difference in all of playoffs this season. The Hawks were outplayed on both sides. It’s a bit disappointing to get blown out and then the team that blows you out fails to win the more meaningful game. I have nothing against any of the players on the Wraiths but I would really like if we were the team to eliminate them next year. It would be even better if we could be the team that keeps them from making the playoffs altogether but I would definitely settle to knock them out of the playoffs whether it be in the wildcard round or the NSFC championship game. But it would be pretty bad if we blew them out then choked in the Ultimus like they did though.
4) Resim!
If I could resim one game from this season it would be the very last game off the season for the DSFL, the Ultimini. I chose this game because I feel that the results of the game are quite unlucky for a couple reasons. One of the main reasons is that kicker for the Luchadores was the best kicker in the DSFL this season and in the ultimini he missed two field goals and one extra point. One of the misses was from 45 yards and the other was from 38. During the regular season he only missed 3 field goals from farther than 40 yards but was perfect otherwise. He also only had one missed extra point during the regular season as well. So while the 45 yard miss isn’t that unlikely, I do feel like that the other two misses were very unlikely. In a game that the Luchadores only lost by 3, those easy points really mattered. Another reason was that somehow Jed Podalak only averaged 2.2 yards per attempt and the waiver rookie Ed Barker averaged more than double at 5. Overall I think that a resim would have been a better outcome for the Luchadores.
12) Interview a draftee : with @jeffie43
1. Which team logo do you like the best?
1) I really like a lot of the logos around the NSFL/DSFL. It'd be tough to pick just one in all honesty. I really like the Wraiths', Outlaws', Second Line's and the Luchadores' logos. All have extremely appealing features to me and really stand out compared to the rest, to me of course.
2. I know it may be somewhat far away but is there any NSFL team you hope to be on?
2) I just want to be in a comfortable situation with (potentially) familiar faces. I'd strongly prefer an active clubhouse but if someone is looking for a spark in the clubhouse I can be that too. All in all, I'm not super picky and I'd be happy to be drafted into the NSFL in general.
But if I had to pick one it'd be Philadelphia due to the love that Hall and Franchet have showed me and partly because it's the only NSFL server I'm in.
3.Best thing about the draft process?
3) Best thing about the draft process are all the new people that you talk to that you don't really see in main on a normal basis. You build bonds through these conversations and it's a really fun way to just...vibe with people when otherwise you may never have met them. It's also super exciting to see where you go and a great time because GMs like to stroke your ego and also free sigs, who can hate on that?
4. What is your favorite type of bagel?
4) Bagel#0315 is my favorite kind of bagel. He's one of my closest friends in the league and I love him a lot. I really treasure the time I spend with him and he's a sweetheart. I'm still convinced the loveable clown can do no wrong and I'll die on that hill. Even if he GMs a rival team (as of right now) I still love him to death and wouldn't trade him for anything else in this league. Bagels as in foods are only temporary, but my friendship with this Bagel is something that is permanent.
