3) Revenge
At this point it's hard to imagine wanting revenge on anyone else more than Orange County. I love Orange County because myy first player was there his entire career. It was my first team for my first ever sim league. I landed the Hall of Fame there and won three championships there. But now it's time for my new character and a new team and damnit do I want that new team to be able to win itt all. But as it stands we currently have Orange County standing in our way and defeating us in the Ultimus even when it's on our own field. There's not much that we can do about that because the dice just fall the way they do sometimes but if there's one team I want to get revenge on for an embarassing loss in Season 20 it's going to have to be them and nobody else. So lett this serve as your warning Orange County, Cooter is back and he is ready to knock you out of it next season and take our spot as the top team once again. Twice. Yeah we're gonna do it twice. I don't know how but it's going to happen, we could really use some help on defense though.
4) Resim!
Well shit how hard is this one to choose. I want to resim the damn Ultimus game. Knowing what I know about the sim I'm pretty confident we had a higher chance of winning in that game than OCO did but the dice rolled the other way (again...this is getting old). So if I was able to resim a game that's gotta be the one knowing that we were the number 1 seed anyway so resimming any other game is pointless. We'd get a shot to win again knowing we have the advantage in that situation and hopefully beat them with our really strong offense. We needed way more successful drives than we had and were consistently stalling on offense. If Cooter could complete even 55% of his passes and have more efficiency in terms of yards per attempt we would have been able to drive the field and keep the ball out of their hands and help to burn the clock and finish drives. One thing we noticed is Orange County in that sim failed to convert goal line looks like touchdowns by a pretty decent margin. That was going well for us but we failed to capitalize on our own drives to run up the score to a safe margin.
5) Offseason Needs
This offseason tthe Wraiths don't have a ton of holes to fill but we could really use a little more help on defense. We've lost a couple of pieces on both sides of the ball but our offense has some yyoung talent we can work with to augment our veterans. Meanwhile the defense was easily our weak spot last season and what cost us the championship most likely so that would easily be the biggest need. Since we're in a bit of a win now mode I'd opt to actually grab decent inactives via trades if I could in order to shore up holes on the defensive line. If we could spend a few picks to grab lower TPE inactive DL or grab a guy deep in regression in free agency that is really all we would need in order to fix the defense. We have a legendary secondary and linebacker corps so just a little pressure up front is enough to make the defense become much stronger than it was last season and help keep our offense on the field more so Cooter can throw more interceptions. Wait that's not going to help. Oh well, fuck it it chuck it football is back baby.
6) Recruitment
Oh hell yes this is my kind of ultimus week task! I have a lot of experience building bot teams that become champions (see Palm Beach Solar Bears) and I would happily do it again. My secret sauce for this would be to build my team around a stifling front 7, a mobile quarterback, and dual running backs. I would want all speed rush linebackers at 90 speed and all run stuffing DTs for all positions on my line. While it might not make sense to some why I have slower linemen to me I'd rely on high strength to overpower offensive lines and let my super fast 90 speed linebackers worry about making tackles on running backs. My defensive backs would again be extremely fast to the tune of 100 speed and I wouldnt really worry about much else. Strength up front and speed in the rear. Then on offense my mobile QB would have excellent speed to run a Spread offense with a high running percentage along with a two back combo behind him. We'd spread the touches out a lot. My receivers would be possession oriented or red zone style with the tools to beat coverage but not necessarily break long runs. Our goal would be to get 7 yards at a time and not worry about chunk plays.
