CHOOSE 4 TASKS, EACH WILL BE REWARDED 2.5 TPE FOR COMPLETION FOR A MAXIMUM OF 10 TPE
Rules:
1) Written tasks must be at least 200 words (No exceptions and no partial credit, not that hard to get to 200 words).
2) You can do any option for any task, they can be a mix, but please only do each task once.
3) Only submit one post in this thread.
4) Graphics must be more than text on an image, it is Ultimus week, show Ultimus effort. It is up to graders discretion to give credit, so don’t give us a reason to deny you TPE
5) This year we will keep the podcast options, please stay on topic for the task, make sure to include 5 minutes of talk on the task you are working with. Podcast options can be used in place of ANY of the Written options. We will be timing you and pause the timer when you get too far off topic.
6) As it is too hard and complicated to time the podcast for media money and task credit, if you do a podcast it can only be for Ultimus week. Do a separate podcast if you want media credit.
7) You may use a PBE, SHL, and GOMHL PT as credit for a maximum of 1 tasks here.
8) Affiliate PT must be from this week, 12/30 - 1/5, to get credit.
9) Affiliate PT must be the actual task, but not a link for welfare credit.
10) These tasks can be written about the NSFL or DSFL playoffs (With few exceptions).
7) Penalty box
Written: Football is now adding a penalty box! Which of your teammates would find themselves in it most often, and for what reasons?
Graphics: Depict whoever it is spending time in the box.
I'm a cock. A massive cock. I'd like to think that Lavelle Jr plays similiar to myself in how I play not football but soccer. I'm a massive dick out there to pretty much anybody not wearing the same shitty jersey as me and that's how I've always learned to play. If you can't take the abuse on the field, then you shouldn't be out there with me. If you take the abuse out there and don't respond then I know you without a doubt shouldn't be out there and I'm going to fuck you up in a 50/50 if I get the chance.
I'd imagine my player plays the exact same here, seeing how WR's tend to be big fucking divas, but to be fair to them, cornerbacks tend to be to. I'd imagine Lavelle Jr's style as Aqib Talib - esque . I'd be ripping chains off of players like Sunnycursed with the best of them. To be real it would be incredibly tough to play the position that has to man mark the greatest athletes in the world without being allow to touch or rough them up, you'd have to be insane to do that with a nice attitude. Lavelle Jr spends all his time in the penalty box because he is a cock and likes to get unnecessary roughness penalties.
10) Commissioner
Written: ADwyer, long time commissioner, is stepping down in the new year. If you were to replace him, what changes would you make to the league?
Adwyer has held the position of commissioner since I stepped down in August 2017, a role that nobody is really ready for. Dwyer was a veteran of sim leagues, I can't even remember when he first joined them. But by that point he had been in our HO for awhile, I stepped down suddenly enough because at that point everything in my life had change in a short time and by then I was just not able for it anymore. Dwyer stepped up and took a role he didn't really want, need or strive to have but that didn't mean he didnt put his everything into it.
Truth is, being in head office sucks donkey cock but being the leader of the league is bollocks because you're being a big babysitter. Even at the very top you don't have entire power because a HO/GM vote decides most things but you can lobby and strongarm changes in like I did many a time during my stint.
Should I become commissioner again I think the biggest changes I'd angle for would be to take donation (i know ive been against this for some time) but I believe we need to raise funds for a number of reasons.
Currently we're hamstrung by being on jcink due to just how outdated it is, we can't improve our current forum system, we're unable to push past this ceiling.
We need to be sustainable , self sustainable. Currently we rely on 37th chamber to host our wiki, our indexes, our current index and much more. He pays for this out of his own pocket, only because he's paying for it for other uses too. But how long will this last? We need to get to a point where we can raise funds to actually host our shit, improve our site, move forward.
Raising funds would also allow us to possibly design and own the rights to all of our logos, avoiding imminent legal action from cock hounds when we continue to expand in the future. You could even open up a merch shop to raise further funds, let's make this league by far the best around. Let's make our whole league like our draft presentation, the best in the game.
12) Interview a draftee
Written: Interview a player from who is in either of the upcoming drafts. You must have at least 4 questions, 3 of which related to the league. YOU MUST POST THE QUESTIONS AND THEIR ANSWERS FOR CREDIT.
Q&A with Jeffrey (DSFL draft)
1. How did you end up creating and finding out about the NSFL? (How, where, why)
2. What was your very first experiences in the NSFL? Good/Bad/Neutral
3. What part of the NSFL do you like the most?, Coincidentally what part do you dislike the most?
4. If you could change anything about the NSFL, as a new player what would you alter?
5. How did you find our forums to navigate? Easy/tough/annoying/cluttered
6. Are you apart of other sim leagues, if so what ones?
7. To build off question 6, is there any aspect from those leagues you could see working here?
1. One of my teammates in a reddit baseball league linked it in our LR and said it was pretty cool. I love football and the idea of being your own player and whatnot so I thought I'd pop by and check it out but I was prepared to leave quickly if it wasn't to my liking. The people here were surprisingly helpful and kind and I was taken aback because the communities I've come from are pretty shitposty for the most part so I decided to stay and create my guy and the rest is...history kinda?
2. My first experience was really stupid (In a funny way). I was arguing with people about Jeffreys vs Jefferys. It was a goofy experience in hindsight and I think it led to me staying because the people here were genuinely funny and rather nice. I think BR was there and idk who else.
One of my other first experiences was joining the MB LR and being welcomed by people there, it was super exciting and really fun getting to meet new and fantastic people.
3. The community, people here seem much nicer and helpful than other communities I've been in, I know I sound like a broken record with this but I can't emphasize this enough.
One thing I don't like are the forums. Coming from a baseball community where we have a website that's fairly easy to navigate + reddit, the forums can get really confusing at times
4. Explore options on reddit to move the forum. I understand that it's probably unlikely that anything will happen due to the nature of the forums and the different stuff on there that you need to keep tabs on but it would be something I'd definitely take a look at.
5. Depends on what I was looking for, there were stuff that was really hard to find for me (Maybe I'm just dumb, idk) but others were relatively like media grading. But I'd say a mix between annoying/tough and easy
6. Yes, that's where I advertised to get this big S21 class. I'm a former commissioner in MLR (Major League Redditball/FakeBaseball) and stepped down like 3 days ago.
7. Reddit implementation is key in those leagues and that's something I could see working here depending on how things go. Aside from that I don't know if there's anything I'd add here, maybe a way to navigate through stats better? Coming from MLR where its way easier to find stats from each game (Like Below) it's been really messy trying to piece together stats for each player here (For an article im writing)
16) Dynasty
Written: Convince us that your team will be the next NSFL or DSFL dynasty.
Graphic: Show us stats that back up your reasoning.
The Austin Copperheads are the next NSFL Dynasty. Now I don't know when it will exactly begin because we need the fucking orange county otters to finally cock up and fuck off and untill then we cant really do all that much but wait , build our team and wait for the balls up.
Looking at us right now, we're set at QB with Easton Cole looking to become the franchise qb for Austin. Mako Mendonca at RB puts a donk on it, incredible rusher and receiver when needed. Wide receiver we've got the elusive Rod Tidwell, the enigma and newly drafted Jacoby Clay along with the LB turned WR, Net Gaines.
TE is Peter Larson who is continuing to kill the game.
Defense is stacked between our incredible developing defensive line, our studly linebackers and our recently revamped secondary with the addition of Moreno through the NSFL draft. The whole team is studly and set to be the great dynasty of the future.
Complete with the incredible dynamic GM duo of Jkortesi and AdamS, the Copperheads are looking to build off their back to back playoff appearences and truly contend for a whole host of titles. You heard it here first, be real. We're here to stay.
