6) Recruitment
Activity, activity, and more activity. That’s the obvious answer at least, but the real question is how do you get that more activity to have a good team? Well, what makes players active is having a reason to be so. If players care about what’s happening they’ll be more inclined to be active. So how do you make players care? Well, in my opinion, it’s by surrounding players with others that they like, that they either already have good friendships with or people who are naturally friendly and like to make new friends. A team of friends, that has almost that brotherly aspect to it, is one that cares, and is one that is willing to go the extra distance to make their team better. Activity makes the scouting better, it makes the locker room and the clubhouse better, it even makes the coaches and GM’s better. Having constant ongoing conversation builds even better and more permanent friendships, some that even extend beyond just the game, and that’s one of the best parts about all of this. But how do you draft for activity? The answer is simple- have as many meaningful conversations and make as many friends with upcoming prospects as possible. One of the worst feelings was being drafted by a GM that never even reached out to me- I felt like he was just going with what the board said, not someone who he had a personal connection with, and it made me not want to play for that team nearly as much as another where I had that connection with. All in all, friendship leads to activity, and activity leads to results.
8) Scouting Report
Kubee Krusher is a DE out of FSU, and he might just be the best damn defensive player in this class. He’s the kind of player who you can submit the pick and know exactly what you’re getting, and what you’re getting is one of the single most active guys I’ve ever seen. Not only will he light up your clubhouse, but he’ll do it in a positive and meaningful way. He’s the kind of guy who’s always been a joy to talk to and an absolute pleasure to be on a team with. I was fortunate enough to personally draft him in another “sim” league, and he was an absolute pleasure to have on the team. I simply cannot say enough good things about this man, plain and simple. I’m not sugarcoating or overselling, you will absolutely get what you bargain for if you draft him, and he should easily go in the top 5. The only mild drawback there might be is that I’m not entirely sure of how interested he is in doing media and other things of a similar vein, which means he might not earn TPE as quickly. But that’s a big if in its own right, as he very well might do it now with proper motivation to. Whoever manages drafts Krusher is a lucky, lucky team.
12) Interview a draftee
Tequila: Do you consider yourself to be a bit of a wildcard when it comes to activity? We all know the upside is there, but it seems recently that there is more call to alarm for risk of being less interested/inactive as well
Jeffrey: No, I dont think any such call is true and it's all false. I'll remain active and there wont be many (if any) issues at all in that department.
Tequila: What will make you the next big thing?
Jeffrey: 3 words: Hard work, consistency, activity. I've been working on media, I've had 3 GFX's posted, a podcast that is being edited rn and an article that's about 1/8 done (its long). Ive been steadily active and plan on doing so for a while as long as nothing comes up irl wise and I might potentially have the most TPE in the draft class as I'm already at 101 right now and i'm also the third most active user in the Myrtle Beach clubhouse right now despite only joining 2 weeks ago. All of these are contributing factors that could potentially make me the next big thing
Tequila: Do you think your close relationships with a lot of the community members gives you a leg up when it comes to draft day?
Jeffrey: Easily, knowing people in the community will definitely lead to getting drafted higher come draft time.
Tequila: What are your draft day plans?
Jeffrey: Crack a beer open, take a sip and see which team gets the best player in the draft
13) Get interviewed by a Vet
Jay: As a receiving back, was there ever a time when you thought your skillset would lend itself well to being a receiver?
Tequila: Funnily enough, although I played RB in high school, I was mostly recruited to come out as a WR in college. A lot of colleges liked my hands and my quickness, but I felt I never really fit quite in there. Although I am a receiving back I feel like my vision and intelligence are extremely high coming out of college. I feel like I especially excel in the screen game, a place where WR's can't really match it
Jay: What would be more meaningful to you: posting an 8 catch game with 5 first downs or have one big run for a touchdown?
Tequila: Absolutely an 8 catch/5 first down game. I'm all about chipping teams to death and it's a lot more beneficial to the team as a whole to be able to move the chains rather than one lucky long td. Plus I’d rather have 8 touches than 1, so there’s that as well.
Jay: What do you do better than anyone else in the running back class?
Tequila: I think that I have elite vision and discipline, as well as the intelligence to play the game extremely well. Being a workout warrior isn't all that in my opinion, and I think playing football smart is far more important.
Jay: If Nike made a commercial about you, what would the message be?
Tequila: If there was a commercial about me, it would have to be about working hard to get results. if you want to do what you want to do you have to put in the work to get there, ya know? Life isn't handed to you on a silver platter. You have to go out and prove your worth and earn what you get. That's life.
