Believe it or not, I wasn't the only defensive stud on the Minnesota State football team. I'm talking about Alexander Chase and he is going to be one of the most exciting rookies in next year's DSFL draft. He and I accomplished a lot together on the Gopher defensive line and it would be awesome to bring him to the Grey Duck locker room and show him how another Minnesota team operates. The day would begin with me bringing him and I omelettes to eat but I'd also bring yogurt and fruit to compel my teammates to come over and say hi. I'd want to break the ice with him and my Grey Duck teammates first. This will allow more open and honest communication through the day. After breakfast, he would be invited to work out with the team. We'd talk about Grey Duck specific workouts and he'd meet the personal trainers who help us stay in peak condition. Our facilities at the University of Minnesota were top notch but they aren't anything compared to the Grey Ducks. After working out for awhile, I'd set him up to spot for another player so he can feel like part of the team. The comradery in the DSFL is huge and getting a taste for that will only help Alexander stay focused and committed to the league long term.
After the work out, I would have an hour designated to go over player development. This would include point tasks, activity checks, weekly training and equipment. Working out will only help a player be in tip top shape but player development is increasing one's abilities on the field. Alexander was a cornerback for the Gophers so I would talk to him about the important stats to focus on such as speed and strength. I'd also invite teammate Speedo Meter to come and discuss with him what he sees work and not work for a cornerback.
Once we get through player development, its all about the benjamins. In order to buy those trainings and the equipment we talked about, Alexander will need to make money. I will show him my twitter and how useful it is in adding funds to the bank. Twitter is also a great way to connect with fans and other players. The media section such as written articles, graphics and podcasts will also be a topic of conversation. In order to get his brand out to future general managers, I will even conduct an audio interview with him for the podcast I produce. He will also be able to ask me questions about the DSFL and NSFL during the interview so he can find out anything and everything he wants to know.
I will end the day with taking the young stud to dinner. I will send invites to join us to Grey Duck GMs Woelker and Bauer. It would be a great opportunity for Alexander to pick the brains of two GMs in the DSFL!
Overall the day will be all about informing Alexander Chase of the league while connecting with him further on a personal level.
