Tbh, I'd be like "Yup, sounds like him" and move on.

Not trying to get into an argument here since I’ve made my peace with Bex personally, but maybe it’s the fact that Bex decidedly did not have a reputation of someone who talked shit behind people’s backs that has made this such a huge deal. Ignoring all the tampering stuff, which I believe has been handled rather fairly here.
