Wraiths fans have a tradition before every game of going out in to the Canadian wilderness and finding themselves. Fans usually go out in groups of 20 or more to the nearby forests, or on the frozen lakes during the dead of and start a bonfire, and begin telling ghost stories to each other. After the first few ghost stories, the elder of the group will produce the mushrooms they carried with them and pass them around to the whole group. As the journey begins, more and more ghost stories are told and the unmistakable aura of the wraith settles in.

People say the feeling of the wraith is faint at the beginning of the season while the days are still long, but as the playoffs get closer and closer, and the days start turning into nights, the power of the wraith takes hold of the city and the people. During the first weeks of the season, many people experience visions of their loved ones or the local animals, such as the lovable beaver or intimidating gray wolf. However, the closer it gets to winter more and more visions incorporate the wraith in them. These range from simple anthropomorphism of the local mammals and the wraith, to full fledged visions of the wraith instructing you on your life's journey and purpose.

In the early twilight of game day, the visions fade and the group collectively share a moment. They are emboldened, ready to cheer on their wraiths, knowing their purpose and their future path.
