Vinny Cox, the 6'5" defensive tackle out of Tennessee, has his eyes set on the upcoming NSFL Draft. Many consider Cox to be one of the top defensive tackles in the draft. Cox was an absolute stud in college and looks to continue that success into the NSFL.
Strengths
Vinny Cox is big and very strong. Cox's will be able to eat up a ton of space in the middle of the line. His strength will allow him to easily push back offensive lineman and shutdown the run. He can generate enough power to force a double team on him, leaving holes for his other defensive lineman. He has great hands that allows him to keep blockers off of him. Cox rarely misses tackles, wraps up the ball carrier with great strength.
Weaknesses
Cox biggest weakness is his speed. He lacks high end speed. So don't expect high sack numbers early on in his career. He does not have enough burst to quickly close the gap to the quarterback. He is a raw player so he should be able to improve his speed over time. Cox relies mostly on his strength and has not developed a finesse move to get around lineman.
Look for Cox to be one of the top picks in the draft.
