I could do worse than to try to emulate Immanuel Blackstone in my rookie season. He’s been a standout Defensive End for Tijuana and has put together a decent campaign through fourteen games. He has 71 tackles and a whopping 22 of them were for a loss. His speed allows him to get in the backfield really fast and apply pressure early and often. He has given teams and offensive lines fits and they have had to create special schemes just to deal with him. He has forced two fumbles and recovered one. The guy even has a safety to his name along with nine sacks. He’s not a world-beater but his speed and power have quarterbacks rushing to get the ball out which leads to more mistakes. The Luchadores did not have a lot of success this season but it wasn’t for Blackstone’s lack of effort. He has the strength and speed needed to go far in this league if he keeps improving. I would advise any defensive end rookies, like myself, coming in this next season to watch what this guy does on every snap. If you just keep your eyes open you’re guaranteed to learn something. Looking forward to watching this guy next season and maybe even play with him some day.
