after a trade that ultimately did not work out as Chicago had hoped in my professional opinion.

We used the pick we acquired as part of the trade to upgrade the defense at DE and LB. Not sure why it keeps being said this was a bad trade for us. Would you rather have:

5 earlier spots in a deep 1st round

or

1 active 200-600 TPE player for 3 seasons (aka 1st round pick)
1 semi-active 300+ TPE player for 3 seasons (aka 2nd round pick)
1 upgraded LB position for a year
(and you still pick in the 1st btw)

And the quality dropoff of the prospects at the 6th overall pick from the 1st overall is negligible imo.
