3) REVENGE
I want, no I need revenge on Myrtle Beach. They have a lot of good players but we came off of a rebuild and we still put up a fight for part of the season. I think with a better passing defense we can stand a real chance. On top of that they have my new nemesis, Larry Longshot. He’s a juiced up Defensive end who keeps stuffing me on the line. They deserved the win in the Conference Championship game but I think I proved even then that their defense can be broken. They have a good offense but if I remember correctly they will lost some key pieces to the NSFL this season and then the new batch of Norfolk rookies can really do some damage.
Myrtle beach kept the whole conference down this season, but that can’t last forever. A team can only pick on us little guys so much before we get good and show them what’s up. Also Larry Longshot spit on me and honestly I’m still pretty salty about it. I wouldn’t be so salty if they Conference Championship game was not such a blowout, but they can’t stop me and they can’t stop the fleet next season. (204 Words)
4) Rival
My biggest rival by far is Larry Longshot. I knew him from my time in baseball and we were always friendly rivals. We constantly butted heads, both on the field and off but still kept a friendly air. Two forces opposed who attracted to each other. We had different approaches to the game and to life. Now that we’re both on the gridiron, nothing has changed except we’re no longer friends. On top of that he is now a Defensive End and I am a Running back, naturally opposed forces running against each other. Did you know he hates me simply because I went to NC State? I’m sorry I was able to get a full ride academic scholarship AND play football but some of us are just gifted I guess. He decided that me going to NC State was worth ruining our friendship, and after I accepted he stopped talking to me entirely and blocked my number. The GALL! He makes it his goal when our teams are playing, to gun for me, even going as far as to spit in my face one of the few times he was able to catch me. The slow oaf couldn’t catch a ball, he just got lucky but he won’t get me again. He thinks I’m scared? I’m not scared at all, I just don’t want someone to spit on me again. Seriously no flag for that? (236 Words)
9) Brotherly love
Rotticus Scott, Cornerback, Gentleman, Scholar, That’s all I have to say. But I will say more. I didn’t really know him before the DSFL Draft but I’ve gotten to know him as the season has gone on. He’s an athlete and a competitor, someone who I can strive to beat but always there to get drinks after the games. I didn’t think I could be friends with someone from Myrtle Beach, the rivals of my Norfolk Seawolves, but here we are. I enjoy the challenge of trying to beat him on the field, and discussing every encounter we have off the field. I hope that eventually we will get drafted to the same team together. I have always wanted to play with him but so far the opportunity has never come up.
Now I actually have a funny story about him. So the first time we met it actually wasn’t on the field. I met him at Starbucks of all places! We both had ordered the same thing and you know how they sometimes just say what the drink is? Well that happened and we kinda literally bumped into each other! It was a great laugh and we kinda started walking and talking since we were both going the same way. Turns out we both ended up at the Myrtle Beach stadium for our pre-game workouts! We thought that was hilarious and we hit it off, ignoring all the jokes our teammates made and then hung out and played some madden after the game. Hey all GM’s keep an eye on this guy he is going far. (268 Words)
