1) Playoff Reviews
Well, it certainly would have been nice to write about my own team for this Ultimus Review, but Chicago didn't get that sweet sim luck we needed this year. One more year and you'll hear the Chicago Butcher name everywhere. But this year, I'd like to talk a bit about the Yellowknife Wraiths. As the #1 seed in the playoffs again, lots of people chose the Wraiths to win the championship this year. They were pretty dominant this year in the playoffs, even though most teams were within 1 to 2 games of each other. They dominated the Liberty, they crushed the Yeti, then all of a sudden came to a stop against the Copperheads. So what happened? Well unfortunately, Cooter Bigsby had a pretty stinky game behind center. He's been great all year, then all of a sudden in the finals can't throw the ball well against a bum like Dermot Jr. I don't know what happened, but Bigsby dropping the ball was the key to the game. On the other side, it also just happened that the YKW defence couldn't do anything to slow down the opposing QB Cole. He had his way in the air and on the ground, amassing almost 400 yards and 4 TDs. 210 words
3) Revenge
Well, the Chicago Butchers didn't make the playoffs but there are plenty of teams to get revenge on considering we lost 9 games during the regular season. That being said, our main revenge should be against the sim gods, as the Chicago Butchers were screwed out of multiple wins this season. Beating the Otters and the Copperheads was pretty great this year so beating them again would be nice, but we want to take on the Philadelphia Liberty and crush them for some sweet revenge. Why is it revenge you say? Well because screw the Philly Liberty, that's why. Nobody likes them and the keep sneaking into playoff spots and nobody likes that. It's bad for the league and it's bad for us. So it is our personal goal to beat the Liberty down next season and we will be the ones in the playoffs and they will reclaim their rightful position as worst in the league. Next, we would like to take on the aging Yellowknife Wraiths, but first we need to take on the Liberty. The Wraiths will age themselves out and soon we will be on top. Never again will some little nerds like the Philly Liberty beat us. S21 is the new era for the Butchers. 210 words
4) Rivalry
Well this is pretty much a continuation from the previous prompt but I'l do it again. I really like talking about how lame and stupid the Philly Liberty are. The only success they've ever had is based purely off of sim luck and not off of skill or strats or coaching or good playing. It's tough to see a team that thinks they are good but don't deserve any of the success they have. Pick any other team in the league and you'll see dozens of players with more heart and skill than anyone on the Liberty roster. But look at their team. They have nothing to look forward too either. So here we are, the two basement teams of the NFSC, but our future is so bright while theirs is nothing. I do feel bad ragging on them, but they need to wake up. This rivalry is about who can climb out of the basement better and quicker. And I am fully confident Chicago can climb better, especially with all the moves we've made this season. The future is so bright. Even if the Liberty end up good one day, we will win the race out of the basement. 210 words
6) Expansion
So I don't really think the league needs another expansion. We just had one and another would further dilute the talent pool of the league. Unless there's some new rule put in place to regulate how contracts are handed out, it's really about talent acquisition, not roster management. But if it were necessary to expand, I would love to see the abolishment of the conferences. If it were possible, it would be great. That way the 8 best teams, regardless of the conference would make the playoffs. Now if the conferences actually mattered, like if you played the teams in your conference more than others, then its fine to keep it. But we play everyone twice anyways so conference is nothing but to screw over certain teams. So, if it's possible, I'd like to see 1 expansion team added. This would make it a 11 team league and force league realignment to get rid of conferences. I know this isn't possible in the sim we use, but it would be a cool idea. Or have a swing team like the CFL in real life. If a team from the east is better than the west, they can take a west playoff spot. It would be a cool way to reward good teams that are unfortunately stuck in a hard conference. 220 words
