I would disagree that it was lazy, we deliberated on what a fair fine would be and had very long conversations about the incident, and this is what we agreed on. There were more circumstances to this than just the memes that led us to this result

Its hard to come to a conclusion that will satisfy everyone. Those of us close to the situation that were offended by the posts felt that this was justified, while those that weren't close to it or weren't there for it will have a different view on it. It is unfortunate it came to this, but I can assure you that it wasn't us being lazy.

I definitely don't think it was lazy, just excessive. I understand the porn memes could get people in trouble in what's supposed to be a SFW server/chat. A punishment was definitely needed, I just think there should have been a "maximum" fine so someone wasn't getting fined 8 million for memes.
