He doesn't have an advantage over you. He doesn't have a head start. He doesn't have any extra picks. He doesn't have any extra money.
I really don't understand the complaints. It's not like they are operating under different rules? Are you honestly saying you haven't engaged in trade talks? You haven't tried to acquire a player?
If i'm a free agent and I'm watching this unfold, I see one GM complaining and bitching about how he's getting screwed under universal rules, and I see one GM who is using those rules THAT HE DIDN'T MAKE to build a strong team in week one. Which would you choose?
The only reason Las Vegas is getting raked over the coals here is because they're doing a better job at playing the game.
I never said it wasn't fair. I never said it was against the rules. I never said they had any advantage over me. I'm not bitching or complaining.
I have engaged in trade talks, but I always mentioned that I would be shelving any deals until after expansion. To reiterate what I've said in the post already, Las Vegas is knowingly shooting themselves in the foot by diluting the expansion player pool. If a potential free agent would rather play for a team that knowingly puts itself at a competitive disadvantage then so be it, I won't stop them.
I think that though, most of the people in this league agree with what I'm saying. In fact, the only people who have said anything to the contrary are Legion players and soon to be Legion players. You guys have your little team over there, have fun with it.
