Buck looked dejected as he hung up the phone. “Who was that?” asked Lawrence, not looking away from the game film.
“It was Dewalt,” he responded. “They’ve decided to cancel the rest of the season due to the pandemic.”
“What?! That’s bulls**t!” exclaimed Lawrence, now standing with his full attention on Buck. “What exactly did he say?”
“He said not to come in to practice tomorrow. He also said we should quarantine at home since apparently Mamba tested positive.”
“No way! What are we supposed to do locked up with each other for two weeks?” Lawrence, now quite agitated, started pacing around the room.
“I just hope Mamba is okay,” said Buck absentmindedly.
“Of course he’ll be okay, we’re some of the healthiest people on the planet.”
“Yeah you’re right,” said Buck. “Well, we got a lot of game film!”
“Buck, we got 6 weeks worth of film and we’ve already watched it all twice!”
“Yeah, but there’s always more to dissect,” Buck grinned.
“Dude, you’re going to drive me crazy for two weeks,” exasperated Lawrence. “I suppose you’re gonna say we can eat your canned tuna for two weeks?”
“Well...yeah..”
“You’re something else Buck. Let’s at least order some Canes.”
“Okay we can do that,” Buck relented. “Wanna work out while we wait?”
“Fine, Buck,” Lawrence sighed heavily. “This is gonna be a long two weeks,” he said under his breath as he followed Buck to the home gym.
