I'm glad the NSFL is still playing, but if it weren't I'm sure I could fill the time. I spent a year away from football after college slamming bud heavies and helping out on the farm. I might even invite some of my teammates down for some real salt of the earth training. Pushing iron has got nothing on carrying feed sacks and 10 gallon jugs of lighter fluid across the farm.
We'd have to keep our distance, but there's lot of sheds on the farm and a lot of them would only need some minor fumigation to be practically livable. Ma would love to feed a couple dozen of us hungry boys some of that good country food. Hash browns, bacon, sausage, gravy and biscuits, maybe even some grits. We might have to eat in shifts to keep our distance but she might have to cook in shifts to feed us all anyway.
As far as losing a season, that part would be rough. I feel like I'm really hitting my stride right now, and missing out on a chance to show Baltimore and the rest of the NSFL that I'm ready to take that next step. I think I've made my mark this season, leading the DSFL in yards per carry, but any time I get on the field is just more time to shine.
