Okay I got you on this one. In Austin lore we refer to several people as our first player ever. Maybe this'll help.

Dick Wizardry, by virtue of being my player, is the 1st player ever assigned to the Copperheads.
Django Anao'i by virtue of us knowing he'd be available in the expansion draft and agreeing we wanted him first (also he designed the logo) was the first player.
Chase Jensen was our first actual pick.
Rod Tidwell was the first player to actually sign an Austin contract.
Alfredo Crisco was the first player to actually touch the ball during a game.
