The season has to continue and it can't really do that in a competitive fashion without someone at the helm in Chicago. HO spent the weekend trying to find a solution and at the end of the day, the Chicago war room was displeased and wanted more time to decide for themselves. The team needs someone in charge to set DCs, do scouting, and generally keep team operations going. This seems like a suitable solution for all parties until Chicago can find what they want to do with their future.
The only people this decision impacts are the people in Chicago. If they want a say in that, then I'd say HO did the best they could here. It is a middle ground and we'll just have to have faith in Jiggly and Stennent to pick a worthy successor.
