Given the situation and knowing you had been given control of the server again, I saw no need to create an alternative interim GM role.

The user is a current GM and has been around longer than I have.
It is hard to know the exact situation when the only real exposure to Chicago has been Steel, Waldo, and Valor. Heaven forbid someone come in and learn more about the situation.

Someone who's been in the shit before. Someone who's done this before.
They don't need to go on to be a good GM somewhere else because they are currently a GM somewhere else doing just fine.

Meaning that we would have the draft pick to take them with. It just felt like they were picked out of convenience. And once again, nothing against the user or HO, but we just didn't feel comfortable handing the team over in that sort of situation where we knew almost nothing.
HO talked at length about our selection as we worked to find a candidate we felt had a plan and would not hurt the team as they were acquired. I'm sorry if you feel that things were rushed, but I can assure you that HO does not share this opinion. A team was without any real management whatsoever and we moved at the pace that was appropriate to balance addressing the concern in a way that was timely and with care.
We had a list of candidates and we selected one that yes, had the edge of being easier to pick up, but also had ideas and a desire to work on the team in addition to endorsement from those he's worked closely with.
To insinuate that Head Office rushed things and that we were picking solely out of convenience is frankly disrespectful to the hard work we put into trying to help.
