The Colorado Yeti went into the S21 draft (and season overall) nearly universally recognized as one of the most complete teams in the league on paper in terms of depth and team need. Because of that, they had the luxury of mostly drafting best player available. Fast forward several weeks and we are sitting at 6-5. We've lost some games that make sense: @NOLA, @BAL, and @OCO. Those are just hard games against the best teams. But we also lost two games that we really should have won, both against Philadelphia. So, our record doesn't reflect how good I think our team actually is. How's the playoff hunt looking right now? Well, Baltimore has probably the hardest schedule over the last two games with matches, albeit at home, against OCO and NOLA. On the other hand, Colorado, second in the division, has probably the easiest remaining schedule in the league with matches against Arizona and @SJS. Thus, the most likely result, I think most would agree even in worst case scenario, is that Baltimore walks away with a bye into the first round of the playoffs, and COL has to play into the second round. Who is this going to be against? YKW most likely. Good news for the Yeti is that they have beaten YKW both at home and on the road this season. This is good news for Colorado to make it into the division championship round at least. If COL can win out on the season and BAL drops one of their two remaining games, however, COL should be looking at a first round bye and then facing BAL in Denver, where COL has already beaten the Hawks this season. A Yeti appearance (and maybe a win??) in the Ultimus might be more likely than people think.
