The current standings make it difficult for the Norfolk Seawolves to make it into the playoffs based on schedule, but they do control their own destiny and if they do manage to get in they will be a definite contender for the Ultimini thanks to the people on the roster. I would love to list them all here, but given I have a meeting in about five minutes I am going to focus on the defensive side of the ball here. That is where my client plays and that is really where this team shines I would say. Although I would like to shout out our great receivers and tight ends especially Kevin Koh playing hard through difficulty, the quarterback by committee who have been phenomenal locker room personalities, and the running back committee who are exceptional from the first snap to the last.
My client Magnus Rikiya is obviously the first name I can mention as they are the second best defensive tackle in the league. Standing next to them is the phenomenal send down Dorfus Jimbo Jr who has been a phenomenal leader of the defensive line. Combined with Godrick Fallstrum at the tackle position and Buster Brownce at the end position and the Seawolves have a phenomenal set of people on the defensive line. I would say the best, but I am admittedly biased here.
Standing behind them are a lovely set of linebackers who can make plays all over the field. The way they work together makes me hesitant to praise any one of them over the others as their speed as the hit men of the defense is phenomenal and they really work well gang tackling. Ryan Scott second year is the comfortable leader of the pack, but Jack Banks, Shepherd Marshall, and Spike Suzuki are all doing everything right as well. Thanks to the quality of the defensive line the Seawolves tend to play a 4-3 base, but with this linebacker corps they have the depth to play however they please. A nightmare for opposing offenses.
The secondary is where this team really shines though. Amazing Atlas Quin at cornerback, magnificent Matt 'Son of Havoc' Cross at safety, terrific Thubba Bumper at the other cornerback spot, and wonderful Wesley Eriksen at the other safety spot. This secondary is super speedy and can support the rest of the defense for days. Coverage is out of this world and I trust them completely to give my man Magnus time to make plays in the backfield.
So the case for this team winning the Ultimini is the fact that the people who make it up have put in the work. Of course any given Sunday always applies, but I have faith week in and week out that this team is always in it. Things have not gone their way consistently thus far and I will readily admit that fact. That said their worst loss was by just fifteen points way back in week two. They just need the chaos of the universe to get out of their way and I have hired every witch within a hundred miles of Norfolk to try to make that happen.
