From the office of Daymond B. Brooks
Good morning, whoever and wherever you may be. I’m writing this letter because I want to be transparent with my family, my teammates, and most importantly; the people of Minnesota.
Over the course of this season, I have been welcomed with open arms by Minnesotans and I could not be more grateful. I truly feel like I’ve lived here my entire life. I am inspired by your hospitality. Being born in Texas, I wasn’t sure if I was ready for the blistering cold winters up north, but my heart has been warm since the day I stepped off the plane.
I am hereby formally announcing my candidacy for the upcoming gubernatorial? race. I hope you will support me then as you do now. Minnesota has been in need of good leadership from its executive branch since Governor Jesse Ventura left office 17 years ago. Since then, Minnesota has been in decline economically and archaic in its policies. As the campaign trail starts to get underway, I plan to outline my plan to “Body Up Minnesota” in great detail.
As for my teammates and the National Simulation Football League and its affiliate developmental league, I would like to douse any concerns you may have. I am not retiring from professional football. Minnesota has given so much to me, it is time I gave back. I do not plan to miss any practices, team activities, and certainly not any games. I will host campaign rallies in the Minnesota Grey Ducks parking lot where tailgating has become somewhat of an urban legend in its scope. Rest assured, this shall not become a distraction.
As people have had to rise and overcome during a pandemic, I have felt that I wasn’t contributing enough to the overall good of the people of this great state.
I humbly thank you and ask for your consideration in this upcoming election.
Respectfully,
Daymond B. Brooks
