11) Rivalry - As I joined the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers at the trade deadline this season, it is hard to say at this point that I have a certain player or team that I would consider to be a rival of mine. I'm unsure if I can even see myself having a rival until I make it to the NSFL, as in the DSFL players will die out quickly where as NSFL the competition level is significantly higher and so is the competitiveness. However, if I had to pick a rival I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's every LB in the DSFL who is not apart of the Buccaneers. I say that because every LB who is also in the DSFL is someone standing in my way of becoming the greatest of my time (at least at my position). Having good competition is something that should always fuel you to be better, and a start is by wanting to be the very best at your position and building off of that. With most players in the DSFL having more TPE than me, let alone at the LB position, I have a lot of ground to make up due to when I joined, with that being said I'm looking forward for this season where I am able to blow up onto the scene.
13) Interview a Star - I have decided to interview Austin Copperheads star WR Rod Tidwell @SDCore and these were the questions I decided to ask him:
Q: After winning the Ultimus last season, how did that feel? Did you expect it to happen? Take me inside your mind, and how was the vibe of the locker room?
A:We were hyped in Austin, since our creation we have felt like the league was against us. We Build Houses, is the first thing you see when you enter our Locker Room. We knew we could win, we expected to win, and it was great to see it. The locker room was bonkers and is usually pretty bonkers, but a fun place to be.
Q: After a successful run in the playoffs last year, do you expect to be able to do much of the same again this time around?
A: We did expect it, but also knew that a lot of teams got better. We have some young talent still, but needed to have a few good breaks. We expected more out of the team, but that's the way things go.
Q: What went wrong this season after just squeaking in to the playoffs with a 7-6 record? Do you think much of that will be able to be corrected in this run for the Ultimus?
A: Not enough passing to Rod Tidwell, in my opinion. For some reason, we just weren't as good, we built our team around a cast of characters and it's worked, but also the sim hates us. We will do our best, but it will be a tough road.
Q: Who is your favorite player in the DSFL? And why is it Tyrone Woods (That’s me)
A: What a loaded question. I don't pay much attention to the DSFL, but if you are in it then you are my fav player.
19) Team Culture - Honestly, I couldn't be happier with where I've ended up as a Myrtle Beach Buccaneer. Every aspect of the team has been one that I look for without a doubt. We have an incredibly active locker room comprised of current players as well as alumni, on top of that all of the members are super great people. To make matters even better, we have been very competitive this season and have clinched home field advantage throughout the entirety of playoffs. Although, I haven't been able to contribute a whole lot I think this is our time to go out and get the elusive Ultimini. @scorycory and @Frostbite have put this team in a great position for success, and it all starts with their great leadership, as well as the great players they have on this team. The fact that we have alumni who have moved on to NSFL GM roles yet still play an integral part in our teams success says a whole lot about the culture we have here in Myrtle Beach. With that being said, I would be very sad if when the DSFL draft comes around I will no longer be a Buccaneer, as this is definitely a place I would like to stay for the rest of my time in the DSFL.
