6) Next Year
Next year, the Dallas Birddogs are going to be stacked. While it is true that a good number of Birddogs are anticipated to be drafted early in the upcoming NSFL draft, it is extraordinarily likely that a significant number will be sent down to compete in the DSFL for at least one more year. Add on to this a high draft slot in the upcoming DSFL; you will see a good mix of old and new players. In fact, there are at least 10 players for the Birddogs who will be sent down while being maxed at 250 TPE. In their first season of existence, Dallas was on the cusp of a playoff berth. Towards the end of the season, their defense was on fire and unfortunately their offense sputtered a bit due to bad sim luck. On top of this, I project that rival teams, especially those within the South Conference, are going to be losing their top tier talent to the NSFL. Additionally, other DSFL teams did not have nearly as many active users as the Birddogs, so a good portion of their teams will stay stagnant TPE-wise. Lastly, the end of last years’ DSFL season left a bitter taste in many of our mouths, so we will certainly be looking for revenge and we believe that this will be evident in our effort. I believe that the Dallas Birddogs 2.0 will be the best team in the regular season and bring home the Ultimini Trophy.
9) Dynasty
In the DSFL it is nearly impossible to create a dynasty. Every year, your entire roster is uprooted and you have to start with essentially half a team. Those who draft well and are good at snagging late round talent are going to be the ones who can create a lasting dynasty. I believe that Gucci laid the groundwork for a great DSFL franchise that Kyle and new GM iSteg will utilize to this groundwork to lead the team to success for many years to come. The GMs recognize the value of having a friendly, helpful, and encouraging locker room while also introducing a little bit of a competition to spur TPE earning growth. Additionally, iSteg has proved to be shifting the paradigms in the NSFL and DSFL utilizing analytics to give the Birddogs a competitive advantage while the rest of the league sticks to the status quo for building their players. The spirit of the Birddogs will soon proliferate into all corners of the NSFL via the upcoming draft and this will cause it to be an ideal destination for new recruits entering the league. Most importantly, the Dallas war room is very committed and there are a few members who have shown talent for scouting. Overall, I would expect Dallas to be serious contender for the Ultimini Trophy for the next few seasons.
11) Rivalry
Although I would contend that this is more of a friendly rivalry, I would have to say that my personal rival mirrors that of our team. My personal rival is Acura Skyline as our team rival is the other expansion franchise; London Royals. Although Skyline and I have never communicated, we have many similarities. Both of our players were created at the same position around the same time, we are both speed running backs, and since creation we have essentially been in lock step with one another in terms of TPE earned. I definitely do not want Skyline to fail, but I have treated him as the pace setter for this running back class for new recruits and because of this, I hope to be drafted right before him. I also hope that this rivalry is ongoing as I think it is likely that we will be compared in almost all facets for the rest of our careers. While at similar TPE, activity, and bank account, Skyline currently had the advantage of statistics from our first season in the DSFL. He will undoubtedly win RBotY, but I am also hoping to win Special Teams Player of the Year. His situation in London was definitely more beneficial in terms of earning stats, but the Royals saw less success on the field. I have nothing but love for Acura Skyline, but that does not mean I do not want to beat him.
17) Sponsorship
After a few break out games (mostly at special teams) for the Dallas Birddogs, Kichwa Jones is told by his agent that he will be meeting with some executives to audition to be the spokesman for the popular Kit-Kat Bar. Kichwa is performing his lines nicely until it comes to the famous jingle where he can’t stop saying “break me off a piece of that Kich-wa Jones”. The people from the ad agency grow increasingly annoyed that Jones can’t sing the jingle correctly. Pushing up his glasses and pinching between his eyebrows, the head of the ad agency says, “Please, Mr. Jones, just say the name of candy, just say Kit-Kat Bar!” There is a long silence, “Kich-wa Jones” is the response as the ad executives yell and throw their papers in the air. “Just, get out” they say as Kichwa and his agent leave the room. Kichwa looks to his agent and asks “Do you think I got the role?” His agent just shakes his head and starts to walk off, as he does this; he pulls out a Kit-Kat Bar. Kichwa then asks, “Hey, would you mind breaking off a piece of the Kit-Kat Bar for me?” The agent just stares off into the distance and says, “You’ve got to be kidding me”. The commercial fades to black.
