Rivalry:
Honestly, Greedy Sly’s biggest rival in the league currently is none other than Big Edd, DT for the Dallas Birddogs. On first read, this may seem an odd take as the two have never shared the field together. However, some rivalries go much deeper than football penetrating right to a person's core, sadly this is exactly what’s happened between Greedy Sly and Big Edd. How did this rivalry come to be you might ask… It's a sad tale, of a bad take gone wrong, but let's get into it.
Big Edd uproariously made the claim in General Chat that Candy Corn is a top three candy, all time. I realize even writing it now, that probably seems a ridiculous notion to you… a sentence that has never been written before; because such lunacy certainly cannot curse this mortal coil and yet here we are.
The notion of candy corn as a top three candy is ludicrous at best, downright heretical at its worst. Such an ideal strikes against the very fabric of Greedy Sly’s being, turning his mood into some form of primal rage. Sadly, this rage has now settled upon the origin of such a slanderous claim, Big Edd. From Greedy’s point of view the relationship is now irreconcilable until Edd comes to his senses, and finally admits that Candy Corn isn’t even a top ten candy.
Please, if you the reader find this claim as heretical as Greedy we’ll be holding an intervention for Edd soon. We’re looking for people to attend, as well as volunteers to bring snacks…. Many snacks.

After much deliberation the banks of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are excited to announce their new partnership with DSFL prospect, Greedy Sly. After a long scouting process to determine the best spokesperson for the banks’ brand, it was decided that Greedy Sly was the best candidate for the position.
Said Frank Overwitz Jr., president of Freddie Mac Investments, “You know, when we considered all of the possible candidates, something about Greedy stuck out. It was like his name jumped off the page to us and screamed ‘I AM FREDDIE.’ We took a vote with all the shareholders and top investors, and every one agreed. Greedy is exactly what our banks are, and he’s everything we believe in.”
The current rumor is that Greedy Sly will be appearing in an upcoming ad for the banks during the NSFL football league final the Ultimus. There has been no word yet from the group about the exact nature of the ad, but this reporter has it on good authority that the banks were delivering large sacks of money to a local recording studio, to appear in the ad. No matter what creative direction the banks decide to take, expect to see Greedy Sly surrounded by large stacks of cash…. Perhaps diving into a large pool of money ala Scrooge McDuck, and then looking to the camera and stating the banks new mantra: “Be Freddie, Be Fannie, Be Greedy!”
Revenge:
Without a doubt, the Tijuana Luchadores will be looking for revenge in the upcoming season against the Norfolk Seawolves. The Tijuana Luchadores came into the last two weeks of the season with an outside chance at making the DSFL playoffs. They’re best chances of making it in were to win out, and hope for Norfolk to drop at least one, if not two games. With the Dallas Birddogs dropping a game to the Portland Pythons earlier in the day, the only team for Tijuana to worry about was the Seawolves. However, week 14 saw the Seawolves upset the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers, in a result that no one saw coming, making the Luchadores road to the playoffs that much more difficult.
Sadly, in week 15 the Norfolk Seawolves finished their sweep of the two weeks, dropping 31 points on the Dallas Birddogs and locking in their ticket to the Ultimini playoffs. While this result was certainly disappointing for the Luchadores, it stirred a fire deep within the team to even the score with Norfolk in the upcoming season. Some pundits have begun suggesting that something of a divisional rivalry may be forming between the two teams, and most experts expect that sort of tension to be prevalent on the field during the next meeting between these two teams. While no one can say how things will play out, one thing is for certain…. The Tijuana Luchadores will be out for revenge in the upcoming season.
Playoff MVP:
Without a doubt, the playoff MVP for the season 21 playoffs is none other than Stan Francisco. The longtime New Orleans Second Line quarterback had back to back incredible performances in the divisional and Ultimus games, to vault his team into the history books. New Orleans fans were overjoyed at the play of their QB, and many have begun to talk about where he might rank all time amongst NSFL quarterbacks.
Against the Orange County Otters in the divisional round, Francisco posted a stat line of 22/38, 316 yards, with 2 TDs and only 1 interception. It was a commanding performance for Francisco, as he moved around the pocket with ease, delivering pinpoint passes to his receivers including a beautiful 7 step drop to Bona’beri Jones for an 18 yard touchdown. His only hiccup of the day, on a tipped ball that was eventually plucked away by OCO’s A. Lattimer.
In the Ultimus game, Stan Francisco put on a clinic, shredding the Yellowknife defense consistently throughout the day. His line for the game: 22/37, 353 yards, with 3 TDs and just 1 interception. In a game which many had slated to be a defensive back and forth, New Orleans jumped on an early lead, thanks to Francisco’s strong play and never looked back. With both these performances under his belt, Francisco laid claim to the Playoff MVP award.
