Task 1) SHL Affiliate Credit
Task 7) It’s hard to think of a team that went 6-8 as “Robbed”, I mean it just doesn’t sound right by any stretch of the imagination. However, in this incredibly rare instance, the Minnesota Grey Ducks could be seen as robbed. The way their season transpired is like something out of a nightmare, a scenario where no-one can truly be blamed and no element can be said to be at fault. Minnesota’s 6-8 record is actually deceiving because in 4 of those games, they lost by one score or less. It is possibly the most painful way to lose for anyone, be they a player or a fan. But if that wasn’t bad enough, this next statistic might just be even more depressing. Let’s say the Grey ducks won those 4 games they lost by one score. That would give them a record of 10-4 and believe it or not, would make the #1 seed and give them home field advantage all the way through the DSFL playoffs. That is a shocking fact. The question now for the Grey Ducks is how do we even fix this mess. The defense played well, the offense put points on the board, the coaching were intelligent and didn’t over react to bad events. It is the worst possible scenario imaginable and, yes, the Ducks were robbed.
Task 13) I sat down with Mo Berry of the Colorado Yeti to discuss what happened in the playoffs. They finally played in front of their own home crowd for the first time in his career but they didn't get the results that Mo and the rest of the team thought they deserved. When asked about the playoffs he said the following:
"It was nice finally playing in a playoff game at home for the Colorado yeti fans. We did not get the outcome we would have wanted. We want a championship so losing to Baltimore was a failure and I feel you can out that on me."
I asked about how he personally felt about his performance in that game, when every play mattered and all the cards were on the table. He told this reporter that:
I think I did ok but it was not enough. I didn't get and turnovers and I did not generate and points. Like I said before I'm a leader and I'll put this loss on me.
There are those who are wondering if Colorado will ever get over that hump and finally win an Ultimius title. Mo, however, was emphatic with his answer regarding that question:
One thousand percent Colorado will win an ultimus before my career is over. I work too damn hard on and off the field to not bring home a trophy for the great fans of Colorado.
Task 16) Wide Receiver is possibly the most important position for the offense that isn’t Quarterback. In pass happy leagues, their ability to make big plays or heart stopping catches can be the difference between winning and losing. Keeping a good core group of receivers around for a long time is vital to a team’s success. With this in mind, in the upcoming draft, teams should be looking out for the standout wide receiver out of Ohio State, Raphael d’Alcott. Putting up his best season statistically for the Buckeyes this season, d’Alcott was considered the leader of the offense and a consistent play maker. One of the most intelligent players to come out the NCAA in a long time, he is a force to be reckoned with every time he steps out onto the field. Defenders cannot just leave one man on him, d’Alcott will just make separation and make the catches. While definitely a work in progress wide receiver, with the right development and coaching staff around him, he could be one of the greatest players to hit the league. Any doubts about his speed were shattered during his performance against Michigan. One of the best defences in the NCAA, ranked #5 in the country with the #1 Defence and d’Alcott used his raw speed and skill to score four touchdowns. Give him the tools and watch him fly
