4) OL or K/P Appreciation
As the guy whose last guy was a kicker, I can't help myself but a praise my now ex colleague. Especially if he did very well in playoffs. I'm talking about the champion Herbert Prohashka from NOLA. Sometimes you really need your kicker at your best, moreso when the conference itself is very tight. The ASFC conference playoffs was just like that and I gotta say Herbert did play a big part of his team's championship run. In first game, he hit all 3 field goals with going perfect 2/2 XP. Eventually NOLA managed to beat Austin by 6 points so you can see where I'm coming from. Imagine if Herbert wasn't so good. But this wasn't his best moment. The people witnessed even more close game between NOLA and the Otters for the ASFC championship. The game was back and forth and Herbert did all the right things to secure a win for his team. Once again, he went perfect 2/2 FG with 3/3 XP. Meanwhile his opponent, Alex Dasistlongassnamethatihaveproblemswithpronouncingit missed one FG (to be fair, it was a 50+ yard kick, but still). And then the most importantly one - a game winning FG that put his team into the finals. The finals was less eventful for him and he even missed one XP, but that didn't matter anyways as his team was too good. He already did everything he could so his team could play in the finals in the first place. So there it is - 1 game winning shot and playing a big part in other game. It was a nice playoffs for him.
20) Nostalgia
The first season is certainly a good one to remember, but that's mainly because I'm here since S1. More so, I was one of first members here. So I would imagine my time with Kulture Fulture will be the most pleasant memory for me. I wasn't active during his whole career, but it was fun to collect all these awards back then. It's also a somewhat a good feeling when I didn't put a lot of effort on him and he will still be probably considered as the legendary player. Even if it's ''only a kicker''. Kicker are also humans, thank you very much. I remember that in one awards stream someone wasn't really pleased that Kulture received yet another award. He was complaining that some more active members are trying hardest to win it to just see some semi-active to come and crush their dreams. That was a fun part for me. The latter part of his career wasn't as happy as his prime years, especially with Chicago stuff. But it was fine in Baltimore too, it's a shame we couldn't get a ring. So yeah, there were some good moments even before S10 (like the championship in S8), but Kulture Fulture stays as my proudest achievement in this league so far.
1) Playoff Reviews:
Gotta say, NSFC semis was slightly more boring tha ASFC one. The Yeti tried their best in the first half against Yellowknife when they were tied at 13. But then they never scored any points while their opposition added two touchdowns and finished it with 26-13 score. Meanwhile, Baltimore never had any problems with rather a mid tier Chicago. The first half was pretty close with them being tied at 6. But then the Hawks offense never gave any chance to Windy City and eventually won the game 36-16. The ASFC semis was a bit more interesting thanks to Austin and NOLA. Once again the first half was pretty close with both teams being separated by 3 points (13-10 NOLA). But then nothing could stop guys in purple and won the game 23-17. The Otters in other hand only let 7 points from San Jose. Needless to say they won that game.
The NSFC finals was a wild one. Yellowknife was destroying Baltimore 24-0 before ma boi Kulture started a comeback attempt. Unfortunately, the Hawks started to score just little too late and couldn't compete it. 24-19 and the Wraiths are in the finals. The ASFC one was the finals worthy matchup. The Second Line was in the driving seat all time time (17-3; 24-17), but OCO managed to make a comeback on both occasions. However, the kicker Prohashka ended the Otters' dreams in the OT. 27-24, NOLA makes the finals.
And that's pretty much it. The finals was nowhere as intense as the both conference finals. Yellowknife just never found that anidote against the Second Line train and lost convincingly. 33-13 and the Second Line is your S21 NSFL champs.
8) Revenge
I'm not gonna be in NSFL for a moment. But when I make it there, the first team I would be interested to knock out of the championship race is Yellowknife (assuming I won't be drafted there). The reason is very simple - they kicked Baltimore out of the playoffs last season, thus ending my wish about the winning the ring with Kulture Fulture. Like I was really hoping for that since people are even talking about him as HoF candidate. I guess the championship could've put him into these talks, but for now it's not certain. It's a shame since he tried something - he started Baltimore's comeback with scoring 2 FG's in a row, but it was just too late. Being 24-0 behind during the match is just...nah this ain't it. That's disappointing. The team's choice is pretty interesting because I had a quite nice career there with Hardrool with even winning the championship, my only NSFL ring to this day. Still, I was frustrated by that result as I felt we had the power to make at least to the finals. The other team might be Chicago because of that of you know what reasons. But at this moment, my number one team on my revenge list is gonna be a team that handed me my only NSFL ring, but put Fulture's HoF chances into a jeopardy at the same time...again, unless they're drafting me. Then it's Chicago.
