6) Next Year
Written: If your team didn’t win the title this year, why do you believe they can win the next year (or the year after that)?

I've written this task a lot. like a whole freaking lot. Way too many times now. Every season I feel like I'm writing this task and every season it feels like (heck it doesn't feel like, itt actually is) that we're right there on the cusp of finally pulling it off and whomp, whomp, whomp. Sorry dudes better luck next time. So why is it that the Wraiths who are going into regression are suddenly going to be better than anyone else? Honestly I don't even know anymore but fuck it I think we can pull it off this year. I gotta be right eventually, right? I'm sure many a Yeti has said the same thing though. But anyways we didn't lose much talent this season, not as much as several other teams did. We actuallyy did pretty good this offseason and even managed to score ourselves a sweet young free agent wide receiver. Shit we managed to score a free agent wideout two seasons in a row and thats something special for a team that keeps managing to lose our receivers over and over and over. This time it's gonna be different though right? This time the whole league lost a lot of talent and we're still looking pretty good. 5th time's the charm baby.
12) Pay It Forward
Written: Write about someone in this league who you look up to or who you think of as a friend. Why do they deserve to be lauded?
I don't think this is any sort of a controversial recommendation but I really think my teammate @manicmav36 has done a fabulous job as the simmer in the past few seasons. He wasn't exactly handed over the position with a ton of knowledge on how to do the job and he had to really work through some rough rookie mistakes but he did a pretty good job with it. And at the same time he was in the head office through it and is still looking for ways to improve how he does things now that he's out of head office but still a simmer. I understand more than most that simmer is a difficult job to do and you've always got a target on your back because of it. But I think Manic has handled the pressure pretty well, well enough to stick it out at simmer as long as he has and try his best to make sure the job is done right. We'll never have a perfect simmer but I'm pretty happy with how he's done his job. Maybe one day I'll decided to try my hand at being simmer again and take the burden off of him for it, but idk maybe he likes doing the job and will stick it out for a while longer.
19) Team Culture
Written: What is it about your team’s culture and/or locker room that makes you happy to be there? If there are any problems, what do you think should be done to improve them?
Man I really like our locker room in yellowknife. Sure we may not be the most talkative group around but we're a pretty good core of people and I like what the locker room has become. One of my favorite aspects about it is that we don't really have a lot of drama. Even when the league is really overcome with drama about one head office scandal or another we tend to really not talk about those things much in our locker room and we stay pretty positive. Hell even when we lost our third and fourth Ultimus games in a row we did a very good job at staying positive and making the narrative about how great it was to go there again and how we're going to become a better team next season and keep competing etc. Not many teams can do that in my opinion. It's easy to get lost in the toxicity of the moment and start looking for sources of external blame but the yellowknife guys don't really do that. We do our best to look on the brightside and enjoy the company of each other and I really think that's one reason we've been as successful as we have these last five or so seasons now.
20) Nostalgia
Written: What is your happiest memory in this league?
This is a tough one for me, I've been here for damn near three years at this point and I've had some pretty good highs and lows. My first Ultimus was pretty good, my second was good, my third was good. Meeting some new friends was good. Retiring my first player was good. Making my second player was good. There are just a ton of good memories. Honestly the one that makes me smile the most is such a weird one but @iamslm22 is totally going to get it. In fact he's going to know about it before even reading this entire post. Back when I was simmer he and I used to spend our mornings doing sims 3 days a week. Well one morning I'm sitting there doing my file jacked on caffeine and get slm into twitch to watch me sim and check results etc, and I decided to have some fun. Never had I used voice on my streams before for sims, in months. And I hopped on my microphone and screamed in my best southern twang "HEY SLIM ARE YOU AT WORK? ARE YOUR SPEAKERS ON?!?!" Yeah apparently he freaked tf out at work and slammed in some headphones into that jack as fast as he could. From then on I could never get him again, he always put in headphones every time. I tried.
